FABINHA SA supports AFQM: a solidarity commitment at the heart of Western Lausanne

Because a company’s commitment is not measured solely through its professional achievements, FABINHA SA wished to support the Association des Familles du Quart Monde (AFQM) through a donation intended to contribute to its work with individuals and families facing situations of financial hardship and social vulnerability.

Based in Western Lausanne, AFQM has been working for more than 40 years to combat poverty, exclusion and social isolation, while promoting access to rights, dignity and the ability of the people it supports to take an active role in their own lives.

Through this contribution, FABINHA SA wishes to play its part in a local movement of solidarity and support an association whose daily work directly benefits individuals and families in our region.

An association committed to Western Lausanne for more than 40 years

Founded in 1979 in Western Lausanne, the Association des Familles du Quart Monde was created from the desire of families facing hardship to meet, share their experiences and make their voices heard.

Now based in Renens, AFQM continues to support people experiencing difficult circumstances by encouraging mutual aid, solidarity, access to rights and equal treatment in the various areas of everyday life.

Its approach is built around a strong principle: supporting people by developing solutions together with them and recognising their skills, experience and capacity to act.

Practical support for individuals and families

AFQM’s work takes many forms in order to respond to the realities faced by people and families living in situations of hardship.

The association provides individual social support with administrative, personal and family-related matters. The people it supports can benefit from a listening ear, assistance tailored to their situation and, where necessary, guidance towards appropriate services and institutions.

AFQM also develops parenting support initiatives, including individual follow-up, discussion groups and various activities designed to value parents’ skills, strengthen relationships between parents and children and support families in their interactions with institutions and professional networks.

Meetings, workshops, cultural activities and collective projects are also organised to strengthen social connections, reduce isolation and encourage participation.
