AFROGOOD

Complete renovation of a restaurant in the heart of Lausanne

With AFROGOOD, FABINHA SA presents the complete renovation of a restaurant located in the center of Lausanne, in the canton of Vaud. This project combines the modernization of the interior spaces, the renovation of the professional kitchen and the creation of custom-made furniture, in an approach that respects the cultural identity of the establishment. A transformation where materials, volumes and architectural details contribute to the creation of a welcoming, contemporary and functional place.

Reinventing a restaurant without erasing its identity

The renovation of a restaurant represents a particular exercise. Beyond aesthetics, each layout must meet the requirements of a professional space, where circulation, customer comfort and the functionality of the facilities occupy an essential place.

For AFROGOOD, the goal was to modernize the establishment while preserving its warm atmosphere and its identity inspired by African culture.

Our intervention focused on the coatings, wall surfaces, ceilings, technical installations and several custom-made furniture elements. A renovation designed as a whole, in order to create coherence between the different spaces of the restaurant.

A transformation of the walls and ceilings to redefine the volumes

The renovation of AFROGOOD began with a major preparation and repair work of the interior surfaces.

The wall plastering was completely redone in order to restore homogeneous surfaces adapted to the new layouts. Decorative niches were also created in the walls, bringing relief and depth to the interior composition.

The ceilings underwent a complete overhaul, allowing to renew the general appearance of the spaces and better accommodate the new lighting and decoration elements.

These interventions constitute the basis of the restaurant's transformation. They allow to highlight the volumes and offer a coherent setting for the different custom-made layouts.

A custom-made reception counter, a true signature of the restaurant

The counter constitutes one of the central elements of the AFROGOOD project. Designed as a reception point and a visual landmark, it fully participates in the architectural identity of the restaurant.

Designed and manufactured custom by our teams, it combines a structure dressed with contemporary decorative panels with a solid oak top.

The wood brings warmth and authenticity to the composition, while the vertical lines of the panels underline its modern character.

The integration of the AFROGOOD logo comes to complete the whole and reinforce the visual recognition of the establishment. More than a simple functional piece of furniture, this counter becomes a distinctive element of the place, designed to welcome customers upon their arrival.

An acoustic wall cladding in anthracite oak finish

In a restaurant, acoustic comfort directly contributes to the quality of the customer experience. Conversations, movements and daily activity can quickly generate significant sound reverberation.

For AFROGOOD, a main wall was dressed with acoustic panels in anthracite oak finish, combining a sound absorption function with a real decorative dimension.

The texture of the wood and the depth of the anthracite shade create a warm and contemporary atmosphere, while bringing rhythm to the interior architecture.

This cladding also welcomes the backlit logo of the restaurant, integrated as a central element of the composition. The contrast between the dark panels and the light of the logo gives the wall a strong visual identity.

A professional kitchen renovated to meet daily needs

The renovation of AFROGOOD was not limited to the spaces accessible to customers. The professional kitchen also benefited from an upgrade in order to support the daily operation of the establishment.

The walls and ceilings were refreshed, while the floor coverings were renewed with the installation of tiles selected for their adaptation to a professional restaurant environment.

In this type of space, materials must be chosen with particular attention to their resistance to use, their maintenance and the hygiene constraints.

The work carried out contributes to creating a more modern working environment and better adapted to the requirements of a kitchen used daily.

The modernization of technical installations

A successful commercial renovation does not rely solely on visible elements. Technical installations also play an essential role in the proper functioning of the establishment.

As part of the AFROGOOD project, FABINHA SA proceeded with the modernization of the hot water production system, an intervention intended to adapt the equipment to the needs of the restaurant.

This work illustrates the importance of a global approach, combining aesthetic layouts with the installations essential for the daily operation of a professional space.

Solid wood furniture for a warm atmosphere

In continuity with the reception counter, a solid wood high table was also created to complete the layout of the restaurant.

This furniture takes up the spirit of the materials used in the project and contributes to creating a coherent identity between the different spaces.

Solid wood brings a natural and warm presence, while offering an interesting contrast with the contemporary decorative panels and lighting elements.

The custom design also allows to adapt the dimensions and proportions of the furniture to the configuration of the restaurant, taking into account the needs of circulation and use.

A strong afro-contemporary atmosphere

The identity of a restaurant is also built through its atmosphere. Materials, light and decorative elements must form a whole capable of translating the universe of the establishment.

For AFROGOOD, the layouts created participate in an atmosphere that combines cultural references, natural materials and contemporary lines.

The wall niches, acoustic panels in wood finish, solid oak furniture and lighting elements create a warm and welcoming composition.

Our participation in the setting up of certain decorative and atmosphere elements allowed to accompany this transformation while respecting the unique personality of the restaurant.

A commercial renovation, from technical to finishes

The particularity of AFROGOOD lies in the diversity of interventions brought together within the same project.

Repair of walls and ceilings, creation of decorative niches, manufacture of custom-made furniture, improvement of acoustic comfort, renovation of the professional kitchen and modernization of technical installations: each step contributed to the global transformation of the establishment.

For FABINHA SA, this type of realization illustrates the importance of adapting the work to the specificities of a commercial environment, where aesthetic requirements must coexist with operational constraints and the functionality of the spaces.
