Interior renovation of an apartment and its bathrooms in Renens

With CONCORDIA, FABINHA unveils the interior renovation of an apartment located in Renens, in the canton of Vaud. This project combines the complete transformation of the sanitary spaces with a major work of restoring the interior surfaces. The replacement of the old tiles with a 60 × 60 cm taupe porcelain stoneware coating, the repair of the plasterwork, new paint and the renovation of the woodwork make up a project where the sobriety of the materials accompanies the warm character of the apartment.

A renovation designed to bring freshness and harmony to the apartment

Renovating an apartment does not necessarily mean changing its architecture or replacing all its materials. In some projects, the real challenge is to modernize the spaces that need it while preserving the elements that contribute to the character of the home.

For CONCORDIA, our intervention in Renens focused on the complete renovation of the bathrooms and the restoration of the interior surfaces, with particular attention paid to the plasterwork, the paint and the woodwork.

The goal was to regain bright rooms, homogeneous finishes and contemporary sanitary spaces, while maintaining consistency with the existing identity of the apartment.

A complete renovation of the bathrooms

The sanitary spaces are one of the main transformations of the CONCORDIA project.

The old tiles, whose aesthetics no longer met current expectations, were removed in order to completely renew the appearance of the wet rooms.

This intervention allowed to rethink the finishes around a more sober and timeless palette, favoring mineral shades and sanitary equipment with contemporary lines.

The new layouts now offer a more harmonious atmosphere, with coordinated coatings and particular attention paid to the integration of the different elements.

The removal of the old tiles and the preparation of the substrates

Before the implementation of the new coatings, the bathrooms underwent a phase of removal of the old tiles.

This step is an essential part of a sanitary renovation. It allows to prepare the surfaces intended to receive the new tiles and to perform the necessary repairs depending on the condition of the substrates.

In the context of CONCORDIA, the care given to the preparatory work accompanied the search for a regular and coherent result, from the wall surfaces to the finishes of the equipment.

A 60 × 60 cm taupe porcelain stoneware tile

To replace the old coatings, the choice fell on a 60 × 60 cm porcelain stoneware tile, in a taupe shade with mineral nuances.

Halfway between beige and gray, this color brings a natural softness to the sanitary spaces. It constitutes a sober base, particularly suited to a renovation that favors a contemporary aesthetic without a too marked fashion effect.

The square format of 60 × 60 cm allows to create regular surfaces and a discreet joint rhythm, while highlighting the stone-effect texture of the coating.

Associated with the white sanitary equipment and the chrome accessories, this taupe tile composes a bright, balanced and timeless atmosphere.

A bathroom with contemporary lines

In the main bathroom, the new mineral coatings accompany a functional composition, organized around a bathtub equipped with a glass shower screen.

This configuration allows to keep the versatility of a bathtub while having a space adapted to daily showering.

The transparent shower screen preserves an impression of openness, while the white equipment creates a soft contrast with the taupe tile.

The whole adopts a discreet and contemporary aesthetic, where the simple lines and the carefully associated materials contribute to the comfort of the room.

Vanity units and equipment with sleek finishes

The sanitary spaces feature white vanity units, whose rectangular lines naturally integrate with the new coatings.

For the WC part we opted for a Monolith Geberit with its satin white glass to bring depth, light and space optimization.

The integrated storage and illuminated mirrors contribute to preserving a functional organization, adapted to the dimensions of the rooms.

The chrome equipment brings a discreet finish, while the white surfaces reinforce the overall brightness.

This association of materials allows to obtain a sober and harmonious atmosphere, without multiplying the contrasts or the decorative elements.

Modernized WC spaces in continuity with the bathrooms

The WC spaces fit into the same aesthetic identity, with taupe surfaces and equipment with contemporary lines.

In one of the spaces, the compact layout combines a wall-hung WC, a small white hand-washing unit and a mirror with integrated lighting.

The choice of space-saving equipment allows to keep a clear and pleasant organization, even when the dimensions of the room are limited.

A complete renovation of the apartment's plasterwork

Beyond the bathrooms, CONCORDIA also required a major work on all the wall surfaces of the home.

The existing wallpapers were completely removed and a meticulous preparation of the substrate was carried out, with the application of new modern plasterwork in order to regain a homogeneous texture and renew the general appearance of the rooms.

This work of preparation and finishing plays an essential role in the perception of an apartment. The regularity of the surfaces, the joints and the quality of execution contribute directly to the visual harmony of the spaces.

The new plasterwork allowed the walls to regain a clean and coherent finish, while preserving their slightly textured character.

Painting work to regain light and freshness

The renovation continued with the repainting of the interior surfaces, in a light palette intended to accompany the natural brightness of the apartment.

The renovated walls and repainted ceilings make up a sober ensemble, highlighting the volumes and the character of the existing parquet.

This intervention brings a new freshness to the living rooms, bedrooms and circulation spaces, while maintaining an aesthetic continuity throughout the home.

The contrast between the white surfaces and the warm tones of the wood creates a welcoming and timeless atmosphere.

The renovation of the woodwork, doors and windows

The painting work also concerned the woodwork of the apartment, notably the doors and the wooden elements of the windows.

These elements were repainted in order to harmonize with the new wall finishes and the ceilings.

The renovation of the woodwork allows to keep the existing joinery while renewing their appearance, in an approach respectful of the identity of the home.

Doors, frames and windows thus participate in a coherent visual composition, where the finishing details accompany the sobriety of the interior spaces.

The warm character of the mosaic pattern parquet

One of the architectural particularities of CONCORDIA lies in its mosaic pattern wood parquet, present in the living rooms and bedrooms, which was also renovated with a sanding and a matte vitrification to keep the natural charm.

This coating stands out for its geometric design, composed of small wood elements arranged in alternation. Its pattern brings rhythm and a warm identity to the spaces.

The new light paints particularly well highlight its natural nuances, creating a balanced contrast between the white surfaces and the richness of the wood.

The association of this character parquet and the contemporary finishes illustrates the way an interior renovation can renew the atmosphere of an apartment without erasing the qualities of its existing architecture.

A harmony between the existing materials and the new finishes

The CONCORDIA project rests on a balance between the character elements and the new interventions.

The mosaic parquet brings its warmth to the main rooms, while the renovated plasterwork and the light paints reinforce the overall brightness of the home.

In the bathrooms, the 60 × 60 cm taupe tile introduces a contemporary mineral aesthetic, in continuity with the white sanitary equipment and the chrome accessories.

The whole composes a bright, sober and pleasant to live apartment, where the materials and the colors naturally find their place.

A coordinated interior renovation, from the bathrooms to the finishes

With CONCORDIA, FABINHA SA brought together several complementary interventions within the same construction site.

Complete renovation of the bathrooms, removal of the old tiles, installation of taupe porcelain stoneware, repair of the plasterwork, painting of the walls and ceilings as well as restoration of the woodwork: each step contributed to renew the appearance and the comfort of the apartment.

This realization illustrates the importance of an overall approach, where the technical work and the finishes are coordinated to obtain a homogeneous result adapted to the character of the home.

CONCORDIA: a new interior harmony in Renens

With CONCORDIA, FABINHA SA presents an apartment renovation where the quality of the finishes and the respect of the existing character occupy a central place.
