Domus Altissima – Renovation of a Luxury Apartment in Gstaad
Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, in the sophisticated town of Gstaad, the Domus Altissima project represents a prestigious renovation, where high-quality craftsmanship and contemporary design meet in perfect harmony. This apartment has been entirely reimagined to provide a high-end living experience, combining noble materials, clean lines, and a warm, chalet-inspired atmosphere.
An Alpine Atmosphere Enhanced by Authentic Materials
The centerpiece of this renovation is undoubtedly the solid oak, covering the floors with an 18 mm thick resonant parquet, installed with meticulous care. This noble wood brings warmth, texture, and authenticity to the entire apartment.
To preserve the identity of the space, all original doors, windows, and frames were carefully sanded, maintaining their character while enhancing the natural material. They were modernized with the addition of premium handles, discreet and contemporary, seamlessly integrating into the apartment's new style.
Color Harmony and Refined Finishes
The color palette is based on RAL 9003, a subtle and bright white. This shade was applied in matte finish to the ceilings, baseboards, and custom cabinetry, creating a soft, clean, and neutral backdrop. Meanwhile, the walls received the same tone in a satin finish, offering a gentle light reflection and a more dynamic perception of the volumes.
All walls were reinforced with drywall and finished to Q4 standard for perfectly smooth surfaces. Plasterwork was fully redone, and custom false ceilings were created to accommodate dimmable recessed LED spots, ensuring a controlled, warm, and contemporary lighting ambiance.
Custom Bathrooms: Elegance Meets Character
The apartment features two fully redesigned bathrooms. The first is in a sage green hue, a calming and natural tone, while the second adopts beige shades, understated and timeless. In both spaces, brushed brass fixtures enhance elegance, and every piece of furniture was custom-made to fit perfectly within the architectural constraints and volumes.
Signature Kitchen: Minimalism, Texture, and Performance
The kitchen is at the heart of the project, combining clean design, high-end materials, and Swiss technology. All appliances were selected from ZUG, renowned for quality and durability.
Unlike other cabinetry, the kitchen furniture features a delicate beige tone with a soft-touch finish. This ultra-matte, velvety texture gives the space an elegant and contemporary dimension. The Neolith countertop provides both aesthetic mineral beauty and technical performance, ensuring long-lasting durability.
