With TEMPUS, FABINHA SA presents the interior renovation of a charming apartment located in Lausanne, in the canton of Vaud. Boasting beautiful views of Lake Geneva, this home with its authentic character underwent a refurbishment combining the replacement of floor coverings, repainting, restoration of woodwork, and modernization of sanitary spaces. A transformation designed to preserve the soul of the place while bringing it a fresh new look.

Preserving the Charm of the Old While Modernizing Spaces

Some apartments have a distinctive atmosphere, shaped by their architecture, materials, and the details that bear witness to their history.

For TEMPUS, our approach consisted of preserving this character while modernizing the elements that required refurbishment. The goal was not to radically transform the home, but to reveal its potential through targeted and coherent interventions.

The new coverings, refreshed surfaces, and contemporary sanitary equipment now complement the existing woodwork and volumes, creating a balance between authenticity and modern comfort.

New Floor Coverings to Bring the Apartment Back to Life

The replacement of the floors constitutes one of the major interventions of the TEMPUS project.

The old parquet and carpet coverings were removed in order to renew the surfaces and bring a new harmony to the different rooms.

This transformation allowed us to rethink the interior atmosphere based on an essential element: the floor, which accompanies the volumes, the circulation, and the overall perception of the space.

Particular attention was paid to the coherence of the new coverings with the existing architecture, in order to modernize the apartment without breaking with its identity.

New Parquet to Restore Warmth and Authenticity

The parquet occupies a central place in the new atmosphere of TEMPUS.

The choice of a wood-effect covering allows us to preserve the sensation of warmth typical of character apartments, while bringing a more contemporary finish to the living spaces.

The natural shades of the new parquet match the existing woodwork and create a pleasant visual continuity between the different rooms.

This combination contributes to a soft and welcoming atmosphere, where the materials help enhance the volumes and natural light.

Refreshed Walls and Ceilings to Reveal the Light

In addition to the replacement of the floors, the apartment underwent a complete repainting.

The walls and ceilings were redone to achieve uniform, bright surfaces adapted to the new interior atmosphere.

This work allows the rooms to regain clarity and further highlights the existing architectural elements.

The new finishes are part of a search for sobriety, leaving full room to the materials, the volumes, and the natural light enjoyed by the apartment.

Woodwork Renovation to Preserve the Character of the Place

The woodwork constitutes an important part of the identity of this Lausanne apartment.

Rather than systematically replacing it, we chose to refurbish the existing elements in order to preserve their presence and character.

This intervention allowed us to harmonize the finishes with the new floors and renovated surfaces, while preserving the details that contribute to the home's old-world charm.

This work illustrates our approach to interior renovation: to evolve a space while taking into account its history and the materials that deserve to be preserved.

The stairwell was also refurbished in order to integrate with the apartment's new interior identity.

In a home with atypical volumes, this circulation space fully contributes to the perception of the whole. Its treatment therefore deserves the same attention as that of the main rooms.

The work carried out contributes to an aesthetic continuity between the different spaces, with harmonized finishes and a brighter atmosphere.

A Modernized Bathroom for Greater Comfort

The TEMPUS renovation also includes the modernization of the existing bathroom.

The goal was to give it a more contemporary aesthetic and improve daily comfort, while maintaining consistency with the overall atmosphere of the apartment.

The old sanitary fixtures were replaced with contemporary equipment, selected for their functionality and integration into the space.

This intervention allows us to renew the atmosphere of the room without undertaking a major architectural transformation, respecting the overall approach of the project.

A Guest Toilet Also Brought Up to Date

The guest toilet also underwent modernization, continuing the work carried out in the bathroom.

The replacement of the sanitary fixtures and the redone finishes allowed us to renew this space, favoring a sober and functional aesthetic.

Even in the smaller rooms, the attention paid to details contributes to the overall quality of the renovation.

One of TEMPUS's great assets lies in its location and atmosphere. With its atypical volumes, its old-world character, and its view of Lake Geneva, this apartment has a unique identity.

Our intervention sought to enhance these existing qualities rather than transform them.
